On the Tracks – Saigon Photography Day Tour
A snapshot from bygone Saigon – as the train rumbles through
Explore Saigon’s railway village on this exhilarating sunrise photo tour. We capture life along the tracks as trains roll in from the north, photographing street traders, markets, railway workers and locals going about their daily life. This quiet part of the city, surprisingly close to the centre, is like a snapshot from bygone times, with narrow, sleepy alleyways, vintage coffee shops and Saigonese showing their traditional smiles and hospitality. Along the way, we’ll work on composition techniques, assignments and use of various settings according to the moment.
From your guide, Victor Morante: “This tour is meant for those who want to reach the next level of street photography. The streets can get hectic, but we’ll be ready. We’ll be capturing finite instants, those one-second interactions where we have to be able to see it before it even happens. In order to get into the “zone” as it’s called, we have to blend ourselves with the surroundings, listening and observing vividly and profoundly. The streets offer us all we need to compose our photographs. Seeking matching colors, lines, light, shadows and the perfect subject will be our task.”
